Based in Billerica, Mass., !%Bruker Corp.%!, a provider of scientific instruments and systems for molecular and materials research, has signed an agreement to acquire Michrom Bioresources Inc. of Auburn, Calif. Michrom, a privately held company, provides liquid chromatography instrumentation, accessories and consumables for applications in the life sciences, chemical and applied markets. It recently launched the Advance nanoflow liquid chromatography system and CaptiveSpray ionization sources for coupling to mass spectrometry in proteomics and other life sciences applications. Its portfolio is expected to complement Bruker’s mass spectrometry products. Also, Michrom will benefit from Bruker’s Fremont, Calif., manufacturing infrastructure and its global distribution channels.
