Dental laser supplier !%Biolase Technology Inc.%! of Irvine, Calif., has been issued US Patent No. 7,997,279, titled “Methods for Treating Eye Conditions,” by the US Patent and Trademark Office. The patent strengthens the company’s expansion into the treatment of eye conditions, including presbyopia. It expands Patent No. 7,665,467, with broad claims covering the use of laser technology for treating various eye conditions.

Biolase also has formed a new entity, Oculase Inc., a Delaware-based corporation that will own and develop Biolase’s ophthalmic assets and technologies.
