The Medical College of Wisconsin
The Medical College of Wisconsin, based in Milwaukee, has received a $250,000 four-year career development grant from Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) in New York to investigate diseases that affect the retina and the optic nerve, such as glaucoma, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease. The primary investigator of the grant, Dr. Alfredo Dubra, will use adaptive optics to take high-resolution images of individual cells in living eyes. The award will support the creation of a team of optics, computer and software engineers. The RPB Career Development Award Fund was established in 1990 to attract basic scientists and young physicians to eye research.
