John R. Peeler, CEO of !%Veeco Instruments Inc.%!, has joined the IPG Photonics Corp. board of directors. The addition of Peeler, who will serve on the compensation committee, temporarily expands the board to 10 members until the 2013 annual shareholders meeting. Peeler joined Veeco in 2007 and was named board chairman in 2012. Dr. William F. Krupke, who served on the board for 12 years, is leaving when his term ends. IPG Photonics, based in Oxford, Mass., supplies high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers for materials processing, telecommunications and medical applications.
