Precision optics and imaging system components maker !%Navitar%! of Rochester, N.Y., has filled positions at its Special Optics division. Chief technology officer David Manzi, formerly Special Optics’ president and CEO, will be responsible for managing the development of new products, directing corporate business strategy and identifying new market focus areas. Steven Morales, who has worked at Special Optics for more than 14 years, has been promoted from sales manager to general manager. As controller, Thomas Young replaces Matthew Thomas, who retired in July. Special Optics’ products have applications in lasik and laser cataract eye surgery, DNA sequencing, and other medical and life science areas.
