Assa Abloy Acquires Lumidigm
Assa Abloy AB has purchased Lumidigm Inc. of Albuquerque for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will be accretive to earnings per share (EPS) from the start.
Assa Abloy President and CEO Johan Molin said the move will complement the Swedish company’s products within the biometrics industry.
Lumidigm, a manufacturer of biometric readers based on patented multispectral imaging technology, has provided solutions to ensure robust biometric identification under any conditions since its founding in 2001.
The acquisition also will enable HID Global, a business unit of Assa Abloy, to incorporate multispectral imaging biometrics as part of its multifactor authentication solutions for government, banking and enterprise.
Lumidigm, founded in 2001, is expected to reach sales of $25 million in 2014.
