Thorlabs Expands Global Operation to Canada
Thorlabs has expanded its global operations with a new R&D and manufacturing site in Montreal.
Thorlabs Canada ULC will focus on development and production of a range of passive fiber-based optical components necessary for next-generation medical imaging devices, as well as advanced instrumentation for use in the physical sciences. Thorlabs’ new facility is also a collaboration with several academic partners, including École Polytechnique and the University of Montreal.
“We are excited to contribute to strengthening Montreal’s position as a technological center in photonics,” said Eric Geoffrion, managing director of the Canadian operation.
The new location is an expansion of Thorlabs’ geographical footprint, adding to its 13 manufacturing entities in nine countries across four continents.
