Alphanov, Leukos Sign Pulsed-Laser Technology Transfer Agreement

Leukos SARL plans to produce a pump system for its supercontinuum light sources based on a new picosecond laser module developed by Alphanov of Talence, France. The two companies have signed a technology transfer agreement, the terms of which were not disclosed.

The Alphanov platform is based on a fully fibered architecture for generating high-peak-power picosecond laser pulses for micromachining and pumping nonlinear fibers for supercontinuum generation.

By integrating the device as a pump module in its supercontinuum sources, Leukos will increase the average power of its lasers, which now reach several watts of white light with excellent beam quality. This new source will be particularly suitable for applications such as microscopy and spectroscopy.
