AMS Acquires Mazet

AMS AG has acquired spectral sensing systems specialist Mazet GmbH.

Fred Grunert, CEO of Mazet, said the companies’ complementary products and sensor expertise will support a portfolio of optical sensors targeting the automotive, industrial, medical and smart lighting end markets.

“Adding Mazet’s excellent optical know-how allows us to create new product and application opportunities in areas such as sensing and controlling lighting, measuring physical parameters or matching colors on a display to the real world,” said Thomas Riener, executive vice president and general manager of emerging sensor solutions at AMS.

AMS develops sensors, sensor interfaces and power wireless integrated circuits for consumer, communications, industrial, medical and automotive markets.
