Machine Vision Takes Spotlight at Vision 2016

Vision 2016 — organized by Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH and held in Stuttgart, Germany — is a leading international machine vision trade fair that brings together component manufacturers, system suppliers and integrators. It offers a complete spectrum of machine vision technology.

OEMs, mechanical engineering companies and others can learn about the latest innovations in machine vision components, and also initiate investments. End users have the opportunity to check out the latest machine vision products and systems at VISION 2016, and connect with system developers and integrators in fields including mechanical engineering, automotive and medical technology.

Trends in the industry are emphasized at the show, as are applications and solutions for use of machine vision systems. This field is expanding and related technologies are seeing a boost, as well. Show organizers note product and technology growth particularly in Asia, and expansion in the European market.

VISION 2016, in part, will focus on three main technological hot topics — embedded vision, 3D machine vision and hyperspectral imaging. Among discussions at the trade fair will be an open forum on embedded vision, which will kick-off the first day of the show. Established market leaders and a number of new companies will also showcase their technologies. In addition, the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) and other partners will host a special exhibition on machine vision standards.

Comprehensive forums — Industrial VISION Days and VISION Applications — will feature nearly 100 talks with industry experts who will discuss the latest hot topics, from production control for self-learning smart cameras to chemical fingerprinting’s emerging possibilities for industrial machine vision. The forum program also complements the show’s School of Vision segment, where attendees can learn more about technologies in this sector, as well as practical information and applications in which machine vision technologies are being used.

VISION 2016 will present the 22nd VISION Award, sponsored by Imaging and Machine Vision Europe (IMVE), recognizing “outstanding machine vision innovation.” Entries are featured as abstracts in the VISION catalog, and the winner walks away with €5,000 and the opportunity to present the pioneering work during a VISION press conference event.
