Quantum Systems, Sony Collaborate on 61-Megapixel Camera Integration for Trinity Pro UAV

Quantum Systems has entered into a collaboration with Sony to integrate Sony’s ILX-LR1 61-megapixel camera with Quantum’s flagship Trinity Pro mapping drone.

Using sensors and Sony’s BIONZ processor, the camera achieves rapid data readouts, capturing up to 3 fps for improved forward overlap. Image ID technology time-stamps each picture with native date information, facilitating precise image stitching and mitigating data loss risks through direct geo-referencing.

The Trinity Pro paired with the ILX-LR1 can survey 491 hectares based on a 90-min flight time and a flight altitude of 100 m above ground level, using a total ground sample distance of 1.8 cm per pixel. This translates to faster surveys over larger areas with higher data accuracy.
