Private Equity Firm Artemis Capital Partners Acquires Omega Optical
Boston-based private equity firm Artemis Capital Partners has acquired Omega Optical, developers of custom precision thin-film filters and optical coatings. Omega becomes the first company of Artemis’ Optical Technology platform.
The existing Omega management team, led by CEO Thomas Smith and Technical Director Robert Johnson, are retaining significant ownership interest in the company — now known as Omega Optical LLC. That team will continue to lead Omega’s business, and the company will continue to operate independently from its headquarters in Brattleboro, Vt.
Artemis has recruited photonics industry executive John Ippolito to join its board to assist with corporate development activities, including future acquisitions.
