II-VI Adds Executive Vice President, Finalizes Acquisitions
II-VI Inc. announced that Sohail Khan has joined the company as executive vice president of new ventures and wide-bandgap electronics technologies. The company additionally closed on its acquisition of Ascatron, a Swedish company that produces silicon carbide (SiC) epitaxial wafers and devices for power electronics, and on all outstanding interests of the owners of the parent of INNOViON Corp., a Colorado Springs, Colo.-based developer of ion implantation technology and services for semiconductor devices. II-VI announced both acquisitions in August 2020.
Khan previously served as managing partner for K5 Innovations and as CEO of three companies, including a developer of ultrahigh definition video solutions for semiconductors, and a fuel-cell company.
II-VI also announced it has joined the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).
