Alluxa Names Director of Product Development: People in the News: 01/26/22

SANTA ROSA, Calif. — Optical coatings, filters, and thin-film deposition technology developer and manufacturer Alluxa Inc. named Amber Czajkowski director of product management. In the position, Czajkowski will be responsible for applications and product engineering. Czajkowski has 15 years of experience in the optics community, serving in both manufacturing and commercial roles.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Velodyne Lidar added to its board of directors with the appointment of Ernest Maddock to the role of class three director. Maddock served as senior vice president and CFO of Micron Technology from 2015 to 2018, and he has chaired the audit committee of two public companies. He currently serves on the board of directors of Ultra Clean Holdings Inc., a leading developer and supplier of critical subsystems, components, and parts for the semiconductor industry. Maddock will serve as a member of the Velodyne board’s audit committee.

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. — TECH B2B Marketing, a marketing, public relations, and business consultancy firm serving automation, manufacturing, and related technical industries, named John Lewis an account executive. Lewis most recently served as editor-in-chief of Laser Focus World magazine. He previously held a marketing position at Cognex and served as editor-in-chief of Vision Systems Design magazine.

NEWPORT, England — Compound Semiconductors Applications Catapult (CSA Catapult) appointed Raj Gawera to its board of directors as a nonexecutive director. The wireless communications technology industry veteran is responsible for multiple European development centers delivering technology into Samsung’s semiconductor division. CSA Catapult was established to help the U.K. become a global leader in compound semiconductors through collaboration with large companies and startups to develop and commercialize new applications. CSA Catapult is a member of the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) and the Photonics Leadership Group (U.K.).

GRENOBLE, France — The board of semiconductor materials designer and manufacturer Soitec will appoint Pierre Barnabé CEO. Barnabé will succeed Paul Boudre following the company’s annual shareholder meeting in July. Barnabé currently serves as senior executive vice president in charge of big data and cybersecurity at IT company Atos.
