Accenture Invests in 3D Tech for Metaverse
Accenture has made strategic investments in Forma Vision and Looking Glass Factory, both providers of 3D technology solutions aimed at metaverse applications. Forma Vision is a provider of live-streamed, volumetric video technology that enables 3D holographic images of people, objects, and environments to be beamed into the metaverse from any office, home, or other location. Looking Glass Factory has developed an end-to-end holographic platform, with a lineup of displays that can show content in life-like 3D without the need for headsets or head-tracking. The investments were made through Accenture’s Accenture Ventures investment arm.
Looking Glass and Forma Vision are the latest companies to join Accenture Ventures’ Project Spotlight, an engagement and investment program focused on investing in companies that create or apply disruptive enterprise technologies. In addition to funding, Project Spotlight connects emerging technology startups with the Global 2000 to fill strategic innovation gaps, and it offers extensive access to Accenture’s domain expertise and enterprise clients. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
