Altechna Acquires Alpine Research Optics
Altechna, a provider of laser optics and optomechanical assemblies, has acquired Alpine Research Optics (ARO), an OEM laser optics company based in Boulder, Colo., that specializes in ultraviolet laser optics and optical coatings. The acquisition, Altechna said, will bolster the positions of both companies in the global laser technology market while focusing on medical and semiconductor production.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and Altechna said that both companies plan to triple their income in five years while maintaining ARO’s management.
In 2023, the combined revenue of the two companies is expected to exceed €22 million ($24.2 million).

ARO employs 35 people, and, as a result of expanded laser optics offerings stemming from the acquisition, Altechna said it plans to create new job vacancies following completion of the deal. Additionally, as part of the acquisition, ARO owner and president Travis Green will remain ARO president and report to Altechna management.
