Corning and Xanoptix Demonstrate a Revolutionary High-Speed Optical Networking Solution

MERRIMACK, N.H. and CORNING, N.Y., Aug. 17 -- Xanoptix Incorporated and Corning Incorporated recently demonstrated an optical networking solution to exceed 225 Gb/s over more than 1-km of multimode fiber. The demonstration showed video traffic transmitted from a computer server and router, over 1.1-km of Corning's developmental high-bandwidth 50-m fiber, through Xanoptix's XTM-1 transceiver and a crossbar switch, back through 1.1-km of fiber and out to a series of client computers.
