Fujitsu Compound Semiconductor, Inc. Agree On Joint Specifications for High Performance Receiver Devices
SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 24 -- Fujitsu Compound Semiconductor, Inc. (FCSI) announces that Fujitsu Quantum Devices, Ltd. and Nortel Networks have agreed on joint specifications for high performance receiver devices for use in 10 Gb/s optical communications products.
This agreement on joint specifications between FQD and Nortel Networks provides customers with two sources for high performance devices with common package outline and pin allocation for common board layout. The new receiver devices are designed to meet the requirements of the OC-192 SONET and STM-64 SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) standards. Sample products are expected to be available in October, 2001 and volume production is planned to start in January, 2002.
