Welch Allyn Offers Solarc 24W Fiber Optic Light Modules and Light Engines to Medical and Industrial OEMs

SKANEATELES FALLS, N.Y., Sept. 18 -- Welch Allyn, Inc.'s Lighting Products Division now offers Solarc 24 W fiber optic light modules (LM24) and light engines (LE24) to medical and industrial OEMs. Based on Welch Allyn's Solarc lighting technology, these systems emit bright white light ideally suited for endoscopic medical applications, microscopy, machine vision, and other industrial inspection applications.

The LM24 consists of three separate components -- a lamp with an integrated cooling mounting block, a ballast, and a connector cable assembly. The LE24 contains the same components as the LM24, but is also mounted inside a rugged housing.

"The light engines and modules deliver the industry's best lumens per watt illumination and are three times brighter than halogen equivalents. These systems also reduce time to market for design engineers, and with their 500-hour lamp life, improve maintenance and replacement cycles. They also provide cool, quiet operation, for medical applications," says Ian Edwards, marketing manager of Welch Allyn Lighting Products Division.
