OSI Wins Cargo Security Screening Systems Order
HAWTHORNE, Calif., Sept. 20 -- OSI Systems Inc. said that the customs agency of a foreign country has awarded OSI Systems an order for two Rapiscan 546 Dual View Large Cargo systems, representing approximately $1.7 million in sales. The systems will be installed in two major transportation hubs. The system uses multi-energy x-ray technology that optimizes image contrast and resolution to bring out picture details and provide a clearer, more useful image and provides additional information about the composition of inspected items, distinguishing between materials according to their atomic weight, and using different colors to easily classify screened objects.
The system combines advanced x-ray technology and state-of-the-art image processing for a new level of image quality. In addition, it allows for cargo to be screened from two distinct angles, which aims to add markedly to the operator's ability to screen for dangerous or contraband cargo.
