Cubic Wins Contract for Additional Laser Training Gear
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 16 -- Cubic Defense Systems, a subsidiary of Cubic Corp. has received a nearly $19 million contract for additional MILES 2000 laser-based ground combat training equipment. The award, from Tec-Masters Inc. (TMI) of Huntsville, Ala., will provide MILES 2000 equipment to the US Army installation at Fort Lewis, Wash.
Cubic's MILES 2000 or Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System is a ground-combat training system that offers the most realistic force-on-force training today. Cubic will deliver M-16A2/MF rifle kits, independent target systems, AT-4 antitank weapon systems, controller devices and additional kits containing systems for sniper rifles, medium and heavy machine guns, squad automatic weapons, tube-launched optically tracked wire-guided (TOW) weapons, armored personnel carriers, M2-M3 fighting vehicles and M1 tanks.
