Latest Machine Vision Products Unveiled at Vision Show East

BOSTON, Oct. 30 -- Demonstrations of the latest machine vision products are among the attractions at The Vision Show East, which opened today at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. More than 110 companies are participating, occupying some 18,000 square feet of exhibit space.
During the show, which runs through Thursday, experts from all over the world will conduct technical conferences on machine vision technology applications.
"We expect to see machine vision used to a much greater extent in nonmanufacturing applications in the years ahead. The technology is ready and the needs are there," said Jeff Burnstein, executive director of the Automated Imaging Association (AIA), which sponsors the event.
"We're very proud of the support the machine vision industry has demonstrated for the Vision Show this year, especially in light of the continuing downturn in capital equipment expenditures and the recent terrorist attacks," Burnstein said. "The machine vision industry is alive and well and open for business."
AIA, which was founded in 1984, represents some 230 suppliers of machine vision components and systems as well as major end users, research firms and consulting groups. In addition to the Vision Show, AIA is best known for its annual machine vision market study, Machine Vision Online, and its annual business conference. Additional information on the show can be found at AIA's Web site www.machinevisiononline.org
