Laser Imaging Plan Wins 'Jigsaw' Funds
Irvine Sensors Corp.'s contractor team has received a $1 million award in the Jigsaw System competition funded by the
Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
Jigsaw will use laser imaging to identify combat targets, piecing together images from many observation points to produce one 3-D image.
Irvine Sensors' team won with its "stacked readout for low observable enhancement" approach, which uses stacked silicon chips to capture high-resolution images from reflected laser energy.
