Thermo Electron Taking Spectra-Physics Private

WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 7 -- Thermo Electron Corp. plans to take its Spectra-Physics Inc. subsidiary private at a cash price of $17.50 per share. Thermo Electron said it expects to initiate the cash tender offer by Nov. 16 for all shares of Spectra-Physics held by minority shareholders.
