ntl Deploying Lightscape 10 Gigabit Optical Networking Technology

PETAH TIKVA, Israel, Nov. 15 -- Lightscape Networks, an ECI Telecom company, said that ntl will be deploying its enhanced XDM intelligent optical platform with 10-Gb/s capability.

ntl, which provides broadband services to over 76,000 UK businesses and 20 million residential customers across Europe, is the first UK operator to employ the interface to carry IP traffic for business users. Lightscapes' XDMs will initially be deployed across two separate high-speed connections between ntl and other operators' London-based networks, serving to further strengthen the infrastructure ntl has in place to provide Internet connections to other carriers.
