Spectra-Physics Expects $28 to $33M Charge
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Dec. 6 -- Spectra-Physics Inc. said it will take a $28 million to $33 million pretax charge in the fourth quarter related to certain telecommunications assets. The company said the impaired assets are related to its narrowband filter products and cover fixed assets, operating leases and inventory.
Spectra-Physics said it doesn't intend to exit the telecommunications market.
