ZTE of China Joins RPR Alliance
SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 17 -- ZTE of China has joined the Resilient Packet Ring Alliance, an industry advocacy group promoting the standardization of resilient packet ring (RPR) technology. ZTE joins 16 other leading optical networking and chip company members to promote RPR as a new and highly scalable layer 2 technology that addresses the bandwidth limitations resulting from growing data traffic in carrier networks throughout the US, Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and other markets.
ZTE is China's largest listed telecom manufacturer and one of the 520 key state-run enterprises supported by the central government.
