Uniroyal Optoelectronics Creates 450nm Blue LED
SARASOTA, Fla., Jan. 7 -- Uniroyal Optoelectronics LLC, a subsidiary of Uniroyal Technology Corp., has announced a breakthrough in its LED products with its 450-nm large-area blue chip. This new chip produces 60mW of power, making it one of the brightest LED devices in the high-brightness LED marketplace.
"At 60mW in power, this chip provides the lighting industry with tremendous opportunities for solid state lighting applications," said Uniroyal Technology Corp. president and COO Robert L. Soran.
The company is also expanding its ultraviolet LED product line with the development of a UV large-area chip using the same technology. The UV product is undergoing testing and is expected to produce power levels equivalent to that of the blue product. Further increases in power are anticipated from this design. Uniroyal has applied for patent protection for certain elements of this chip design.
Samples of the 450nm large-area blue chip are available immediately. For information, call 800-836-4014.
