Aussie Power Company Buys ADC Gear for Fiber Network
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 15 -- ADC said it will supply Powercor Australia with fiber equipment in each of 33 sites along its fiber optic ring to Ballarat and Bendigo.
Powercor Australia is constructing a fiber network that will connect its electricity substations and offices in western Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and Shepparton with its head office in central Melbourne. With the network in place, the company intends to offer voice and data services and to be the region's power supplier.
ADC will provide Powercor with cable management equipment including its OMX600T optical distribution frames and its FiberGuide fibre raceway system. These will enable Powercor to link up its SDH network while saving floor space and providing flexibility within the network.
