CyOptics Inc., developer of indium-phosphide-based active optical components, has opened a wafer fabrication facility at the CyOptics Yokneam site in Israel. The company invested over $10 million to construct and equip the new facility, which will produce high-performance indium-phosphide-based modulators, lasers and detectors packaged both as stand-alone devices and as hybrid super components. . . .Bruker AXS Inc. announced it has entered into a joint venture for research, development and production of x-ray optics based on innovative coating technologies. As part of the joint venture, Bruker AXS will hold a 51-percent stake in INCOATEC GmbH, a German company that was spun-off from the GKSS, a materials research center located in Geesthacht, Germany.
