iolon Inc. Adopts Palomar Assembly Automation System

VISTA, Calif., Feb. 7 -- iolon Inc. has adopted Palomar Technologies' assembly automation systems to improve yield and streamline production of tunable optical devices for intelligent optical networks.

Palomar's assembly systems replace manual processes with high-precision automation. The new assembly system has reduced the number of complex process steps and helped iolon achieve a 10-to-1 improvement in units per labor hour, the company said.

A privately held optical networking component company in San Jose, iolon delivers high-performance tunable optical components for intelligent optical networks. iolon developed the Apollo line of tunable lasers.
