Dynasil Corp., manufacturer of synthetic fused silica, has appointed two new sales representatives: in the UK and Israel, Phillip Smith of Resolution Optics, and in France and Italy, Bruno Cottin of Vision-abc. . . . BOC Edwards has promoted Nancy Irwin to the new position of commercial manager, fluorine. She will be responsible for development and commercial release of BOC Edward's onsite fluorine generation program and for the marketing strategy for the fluorine process within the Electronic Materials group.. . .Solus Micro Technologies, developer of tunable optical components for makers of dense wavelength division multiplexing equipment, has opened a development facility in the UK. Located in Bracknell, about 20 miles from London, the new facility has a staff of five engineers who are focusing primarily on electronics integration of its compliant MEMS (CMEMS) tunable optical components with Solus' customers. Mike Blake was named vice president and general manager of the facility.
