Avnet Acquires Gamma Optronik

PHOENIX, March 14 -- Avnet Inc. has acquired Sweden-based Gamma Optronik, a privately owned distributor of photonics products in the Nordic region. Gamma will be operated as a part of Avnet's BFi OPTiLAS European business unit.

Gamma's three former owners, Mehran Salehpour, Louis Moradi and Lars Holm, will remain with BFi OPTiLAS and will continue to have management roles. Gamma's sales and marketing organization will continue to be led by Mehran Salehpour, who will also assume management responsibility for the existing BFi OPTiLAS operations in Sweden.
