Metrologic Wins $1.9 Million Contract for Parcel Scanning, Tracking System

BLACKWOOD, NJ, March 20 -- Metrologic Instruments Inc. has been awarded a $1.9 million contract for the iQ180 camera-based information acquisition system from a Fortune 500 company.

In 2001, Metrologic acquired Adaptive Optics Associates, Inc., designers and manufacturers of sophisticated, application-specific laser and vision-based integrated information processing systems. Since the time of the acquisition, the combined companies formed an advanced development team that has brought to market the iQ180 camera-based imaging, dimensioning and tracking system. The first iQ180 introduced in early 2001 has been refined, tested, and now proven to provide the parcel handling, postal services, airport baggage systems, and material handling industries with effective market solutions.
