Unitek Miyachi Sells Laser Workstation To Chahaya

MONROVIA, Calif., March 21 -- Unitek Miyachi Corp., Axia Systems Div., has received an order for their SX1000 Auto-Align Laser Welding System from Chahaya Optronics Inc. The acquisition of the SX1000 will permit Chahaya, a Fremont, CA based contract manufacturer of optical interconnects, components and modules, to provide precision fiber and component alignment and laser welding of a broad assortment of photonic devices.

The SX1000 is equipped with a Class I eyesafe enclosure, pneumatic vibration isolation granite base, a Delta Tau motion controller, appropriate tooling and "open architecture" control software. SX1000 features Unitek Miyachi’s "A" Series pulsed Nd:YAG laser which was designed specifically for laser welding photonic devices.
