Fujitsu and JDS Uniphase Sign 40 Gb/s Agreement
OTTAWA, Canada and SAN JOSE, Calif. and YAMANASHI, Japan, April 4 -- Fujitsu Quantum Devices Ltd., Fujitsu Compound Semiconductor Inc., and JDS Uniphase Corp. have announced a multisource agreement to develop compact 40 Gb/s PIN receivers with differential coplanar outputs for 40 Gb/s fiber optic system applications.
The agreement specifies the maximum receiver package outline, pin function definitions and pin locations for single mode fiber pigtailed, 40 Gb/s PIN receiver modules. Sample products are expected to be available in June.
Fujitsu Quantum Devices also announced it has started sales of compact, high-performance receiver devices for 10Gb/s optical transmission system applications and expects to start mass production this month. PerkinElmer Optoelectronics has agreed on joint specifications for the new devices.
