Raytheon Receives $26 Million for TOW ITAS for Canada

McKINNEY, Texas, April 18 -- Raytheon Co. has received a $26.2 million contract for 75 tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided (TOW) missile improved target acquisition system (ITAS) sets for Canada through US foreign military sales. The sets include the target acquisition subsystem and the fire control subsystem.

The CCMS Project Office, US Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting customer. The Canadian Army will integrate ITAS into the Kvaerner Eureka turret in the LAV III vehicle. Raytheon is working with CCMS and Canada to define the Canada TOW Under Armor software development program to address crew movement mitigation, missile guidance rate changes, dual language symbology, laser range finder data translation and other technical analysis and simulations.

This contract award provides the opportunity for international sales to other countries with the ALT turret: Norway, Switzerland and Turkey. Work will be performed in McKinney, Texas.
