Faro Laser Ships Trackers to Automaker
LAKE MARY, Fla., April 19 -- Faro Technologies Inc. said the first of its new generation laser trackers have been shipped to a major automotive manufacturer. Shipments are being increased this month to address the approximately $3 million backlog in orders for its trackers and to meet the demand for product demonstrations from potential customers, said Ed Pelshaw, vice president of manufacturing.
The company said the new tracker uses an ultraprecise laser beam to measure objects in the 0- to 100-foot range and has faster measuring speeds, is more accurate and has a larger working envelope than previous models.
