Applications Are Sought for Congressional Science and Engineering Fellowship
The
Optical Society of America and the
Materials Research Society are accepting applications for their congressional science and engineering fellowship for 1998-99.
The congressional fellow spends one year working as a legislative assistant on the staff of a member of Congress or on a congressional committee. Activities include conducting legislative work, attending hearings and preparing briefs. The applicant is expected to be a member of one of the sponsoring societies. Candidates also must possess a doctorate and have a track record of success in research or scholarship in a field relevant to optical and/or materials science and technology.
