Japan Approves Laserscope Lyra Laser

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 7 -- Laserscope has received clearance from the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare to market its Lyra XP laser system and accessories into the aesthetic market in Japan.

Eric Reuter, Laserscope president and CEO, said, "This clearance will allow our distributor, Japan Medical Equipment Co., to directly market the Lyra for hair removal and other dermatologic applications to Japanese hospitals, clinics and private doctors, which significantly improves the market potential for the Lyra XP in the aesthetic medical markets in Japan."
