Sumitomo Chemical Invests in CDT LEP Strategy
CAMBRIDGE, England, May 14 -- Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd. of Japan has made an equity investment in Cambridge Display Technology's (CDT) commercialization strategy for LEPs within the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display market.
The investment builds on the relationship CDT and Sumitomo solidified through a license and technical assistance agreement concluded in 2001. This agreement provided for transfer of CDT’s basic LEP materials intellectual property to conjugated polymers. Sumitomo will provide these new polymer samples to CDT for testing and evaluation in electronic display structures at CDT’s Godmanchester technology development center.
