Jenoptik Acquires Coastal Optical Systems
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., May 15 -- Coastal Optical Systems Inc. has been acquired by Germany-based Jenoptik Laser, Optik, Systeme GmBH, a subsidiary of Jenoptik AG. The company has acquired 100 percent of Coastal shares retroactive to Jan. 1.
"We look forward to leveraging the significant resources of Jenoptik while we continue to build our company," said Coastal's president, Jay Kumler. "Our customers should expect little change outside of an expanding range of capabilities," he added. In addition to benefiting from the anticipated synergies in engineering services, manufacturing technology and measurement technology, he said the company expects to profit from the Jenoptik Group's financial strength and its production capabilities in Jena, Germany.
Coastal Optical Systems, founded in 1991, produces custom precision optical assemblies for aerospace, telecommunication, machine-vision, biomedical and 3D digital entertainment markets.
