Charles W. Deneka, former executive vice president and CTO in Corning Inc.'s Science & Technology Div., has received the
Industrial Research Institute's Gold Medalist Award for 2002. Under his leadership, research and development efforts were focused on exploiting materials and process technology in three major markets: telecommunications, information display and advanced materials. Deneka retired from Corning in January 2001.
. . .Chan Kok Yong has resigned as executive vice president of operations at
ST Assembly Test Services Ltd., a semiconductor test and advanced packaging service provider. Chan cited personal reasons for his resignation. Han Tiang Fong, the company's vice president of testing, is assuming Chan's responsibilities while a replacement is sought.
