TRP Holdings Buys TerraPoint

THE WOODLANDS, Texas, July 4 -- TerraPoint LLC, a provider of light detection and ranging (LIDAR)-based earth surface mapping data, has closed on its sale to Houston-based TRP Holdings LLC. TRP Holdings purchased TerraPoint from Rosemont, Ill.-based Transamerica Finance Corp.

"TerraPoint's new ownership will lend it the strength and stability it needs to expand," said Dan Cotter, retiring president of TerraPoint. "With TRP Holdings' backing, TerraPoint will be able to take advantage of new alliances and joint ventures."
