SwitchCore, Asante to Develop Gigabit Switches

LUND, Sweden, July 4 -- SwitchCore AB, developer of integrated switching devices for internet and data communications, has announced a partnership with Asante Technologies, a provider of network solutions for the education, enterprise and service provider marketplaces. Asante is working in partnership with SwitchCore to develop multilayer Gigabit switches using SwitchCore's CXE-2010 and CXE-16 chips.

The first products are fully managed Layer 2 and Layer 3/4, 16-port Gigabit switches using GBIC and 1000BaseT interfaces. Shipping is expected to start in August.
