Photon Dynamics to Acquire Infared Screening and Inspection Solutions

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 8 -- Photon Dynamics Inc., a provider of integrated yield management solutions for the display, electronics and glass markets, announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Infrared Screening and Inspection Solutions (ISIS) Div. of Advanced Research Technologies Inc. (ART) for $5.5 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close this month.

Based in Montreal, ART is a developer of optical and infrared imaging technologies for the detection of anomalies in the medical sector and the electronics industry, including the ISIS infrared verification system, a screening and off-line inspection and failure analysis tool for electronics printed wiring assembly manufacturers.
