Edmund Optics to Make Eyepieces for Northrop Grumman

BARRINGTON, N.J., July 19 -- Edmund Industrial Optics (EIO) said it has signed a contract with Northrop Grumman to provide biocular eyepieces for use in tanks. The eyepiece assembly contains five high-resolution lenses and a mirror with precision surface flatness. EIO will manufacture and coat the optics, perform the necessary metal work and assemble the eyepieces in-house. The contract calls for over 580 complete assemblies.

Biocular eyepieces are commonly used in a variety of manufactured goods, from medical instruments to commercial products.
