Hitachi Medical Corp. Consolidates Imaging
TWINSBURG, Ohio, Sept. 5 -- Hitachi Medical Corp. of Tokyo announced this week that Hitachi Medical Systems America Inc. (HMSA) of Twinsburg, Ohio, will handle sales, marketing and service for Hitachi's ultrasound products in the US as of Oct 1. The Hitachi Medical Corp. of America office in Tarrytown, NY, that now supports the ultrasound products will cease operations by the end of this year, and the support staff of approximately ten employees will separate from the company at that time, HMSA said.
Hitachi is consolidating its US distribution of diagnostic imaging products under the control of HMSA, which began operations in 1989 when Hitachi's open MRI was introduced to the US marketplace. HMSA also distributes the direct digital radiography products of Swissray International and has recently entered the positron emission tomography imaging market with the introduction of the Sceptre system from CPS Innovations combined with HMSA's AVIA workstation.
