StockerYale to Supply BAE SYSTEMS Lasers
SALEM, N.H., Oct. 17 -- StockerYale Inc. was awarded a contract from BAE SYSTEMS to supply custom-designed thermoelectrically cooled lasers for its advanced threat infrared countermeasures (ATIRCM) system.
StockerYale will initially supply several specialized lasers to the Nashua, N.H.-based Information & Electronic Warfare Systems business unit in the fourth quarter of 2002, with the opportunity for long-term deliveries through 2020.
BAE SYSTEMS' ATIRCM is a countermeasure to protect military aircraft from infrared-guided missiles; it is currently designated for installation on US Army aircraft including the AH-64, UH-60, CH-47 and EH-60.
