JDS Uniphase to Cut More Jobs
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 25 -- Network equipment maker JDS Uniphase Corp. said Thursday it plans to cut more jobs and further consolidate operations as fiscal first-quarter sales plunged more than 40 percent, the Associated Press (AP) reported.
The company, based in San Jose and Ottawa, did not provide specific numbers, AP said. It currently has about 8,000 employees, down from more than 29,000 at the beginning of last year.
